The Soceity of Friendly Fellows heads up a Parkinson Fundraiser at Farragut High School's Throw Back Double Header on April 29, 2010

Knoxville, TN – As the US Senate has just designated April as Parkinson Awareness month the Society of Friendly Fellows is assisting with a First Annual National Parkinson Foundation Fundraiser to be held on April 29, 2010 at the Farragut High School baseball field. The event will be a throw-back double header baseball game with no admission charged but donations accepted for the cause. Two brothers’ who are now in their 40’s and used to play for Farragut Baseball and who took the team to the State Championships in the 1980’s are both afflicted with the disease.

The event will begin at 5:00 PM (Bearden vs. Karns) and at 7:30 PM (Farragut vs. Oak Ridge) at the Farragut High School Field. Two silent auctions will be held; one during each game. Signed Pat Summitt basketballs, signed Philadelphia Phillies merchandise and many local businesses have donated products and gift certificates for the auctions. Nursefinders has made a $250.00 donation in advance of the game. Additionally in order to raise money there will be baked goods and vendors selling their merchandise with part of their proceeds going to Parkinson’s. Some of the vendors lined up are The Society of Friendly Fellows, Tastefully Simple, Silpada, Scentsy and Arbonne to name a few.
