A Note from the President

Welcome to the Society of Friendly Fellows website.  The Society was first established in 1925 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania by my great-grandfather, Sidney J. Burgoyne. Sidney would give people the book, Daily Thoughts for Friendly Fellows and tell them that they were now in the Society of Friendly Fellows.

In October of 2008, we published, Daily Thoughts for Friendly Fellows, Reflections on Seeing the Good in Ourselves and Others and we too are telling people that they are in the Society once they own the book. We’re a group of people who seek to find the good in others.  We have added a scripture verse to all of Sidney’s original 365 poems and we’ve included a bookmark with a special code that allows access to our on-line Forum. We have chosen the National Parkinson Foundation as our first charity to receive a portion of the proceeds from the sale of each book.

My vision is to re-establish the Society of Friendly Fellows worldwide. With your help and support I have faith that we can do it! Won’t you join us today by purchasing, Daily Thoughts for Friendly Fellows? We look forward to having you as a member.

We hope that you enjoy the additional information provided on the website. I would be honored to speak to civic and community groups with a  power-point presentation on the Society of Friendly Fellows; how it originated and how the book was developed.
